Amber Rose Howard Files for Divorce from Dwight Howard Just Six Months After Marriage
In a surprising turn of events, reality TV star and rapper Amber Rose Howard has filed for divorce from former NBA champion Dwight Howard, only six months after the pair said “I do.”
According to court documents filed on July 1 and obtained by TMZ Sports, Amber cited the marriage as “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for reconciliation.” The filing also requests an equitable division of marital assets and alimony.
The couple, who first went public with their relationship in December 2023, had fans buzzing when Amber shared their engagement on Instagram with the caption, “Met you and ain’t stop smiling since Superman”—a tribute to Howard’s longtime nickname. That post has since been deleted.
They officially tied the knot on January 11, 2024, making their split one of the shortest celebrity marriages in recent memory.
Dwight Howard, 39, now competes in the BIG3 League after a decorated 18-season NBA career, where he was an eight-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
Amber Rose Howard, known professionally as Amy, rose to fame with her appearances on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta (Seasons 11 and 12) and released her debut album Amy’s World in 2023.
As fans speculate on what went wrong, neither party has made a public statement regarding the divorce.
